Pirro says the Omar probe covers immigration and financial disclosures as Omar posts a defiant video
U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro told Fox News on Tuesday that her office is investigating Rep. Ilhan Omar over several issues, including immigration and financial disclosure reports, a day after federal agents searched Omar's Washington home. Omar has not answered the search directly in public, but she posted a defiant video compilation attacking President Trump and reporters. No charges have been announced as of Tuesday.

The federal investigation of Rep. Ilhan Omar widened in public view on Tuesday, even though the government still has not said what, in full, it is investigating.
U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro told Fox News that her office is investigating Omar for several issues, including immigration and financial disclosure reports. Pirro said a judge signed the search warrant for Omar's Washington home, which in her account shows probable cause for the search, and that what comes next depends on what the execution of the warrant produced.
Omar herself has not responded publicly to the search as a legal matter. On Tuesday she posted a video compilation of her past clashes with President Trump and with reporters. In the clips she says she was raised to be a decent human being, calls one reporter's questions silly, and tells another that her brain has been fried. The post was defiance as message: no statement on the warrant, no lawyer's response, a show of contempt for the people pursuing her.
One earlier inquiry is now part of the argument. The bipartisan Office of Congressional Conduct looked into Omar after a financial disclosure appeared to show her income rising to as much as 30 million dollars through her husband's stakes in a California winery and a venture capital firm. Omar called the figure an accounting mistake, and that inquiry was dropped. Pirro said the congressional findings are irrelevant to her criminal probe.
President Trump told reporters on Monday that he had nothing to do with the search, while also calling Omar totally crooked and a terrible person. Border czar Tom Homan has said the investigation had been underway for a while and declined to give details. House Democratic leaders have condemned the search as weaponization of federal law enforcement. No charges have been announced against Omar as of Tuesday, and the Justice Department has not stated the scope of the investigation on the record beyond calling it an ongoing federal criminal investigation.
